The official Results will be released on monday Dec 10
It looks like i was leading in the vote all the way without knowing it.
Square enix removed a large amount of votes from many of the finalists, it seems that there were a number of
exploits.
I don't think that any of the finalists did cheat but it is likely that some of the more fanatic supporters did.
I am now about 1300 votes ahead

I will confirm the official results next week and keep you guys posted on everything!

Now this made my day!
FedEx delivered a huge box full of factory sealed goodies to my home today,
from no one less than Square Enix!
I am mighty impressed by their gesture, this is awesome!

The selection of the titles is purposeful, SE took the time to research my collection and send me only the titles i was missing!
Given the huge size of my Collection, it was some work to sort out the 200 photos with various items.

Watching the footage of recent events in japan, it feels unreal, like a movie.
I feel so sorry for all the people affected by the disaster and i hope that the reactor issue will be contained without problems.
That really is tough and i can not begin to imagine how hard it must be for all those who lost their home, their relatives, their... business, their dreams.

At least i have confidence in Japan as they seem to be very resilient, i am sure they will rebuild and recover.

How helpless and small we humans are against the forces of nature. Once again i feel grateful to live in a area where earthquakes... are not as common as in Japan, knowing my family relatively save from of all the various natural disasters so many countries have, i feel lucky.

i am glad that my close friends in japan are save.

The Kitchen had a super busy week and as a result we now have a shit load of new awesome features!

- Kitchen Portal
Our awesome landing page shows the latest announcements, all RR and art battle polls and a lot of other neat functions.
You can see who of your friends is online and if you click on the kitchen calendar days you will get a summery of all unread posts.

- fixed bottom nav bar
Kitchen navigation became easy and very user-friendly. At the bottom of the page you will see a new nav bar with all useful Kitchen links, links to our FB page, RSS feeds and more, you now can also log in to a chat client and chat with your friends from facebook, meebo, AIM, myspace IM, Google Talk, twitter and more!

- DRAG & SHARE
This cool new feature will make every link and image or video on the Kitchen page drag-able and sharable. Simply click on a link, pic or video and drag it and then a sharing menu will open, you can then drop the selected element into facebook, twitter or any of the above listed chats!

- Slide shows!
We have a cool slideshow function! You will see 4 new icons in the second header nav bar. 2D - 3D – WIP - Photography
This icons will open a slideshow page.
When you upload your images to the public albums they will be added to those lists too.

Of course all personal albums have a slide show too! You will find the slideshow link in the top right corner when you open a personal user album!

- Voice chat
Thanks to dZ-ero we now have Kitchen Vent. You will find the link in the bottom nav bar or in the top header nav bar.

- Games

The tutorials found a new home now, you will no longer need to register a new facebook account (even tho i will keep updating it on FB too)

I opened a new cozy art place, a private forum without a commercial purpose.
The site can be a little bis slow at times, sorry about that. I pay it from my own pocket, so no cutting edge dedicated server for now...

This place is a place for artists and will be the new home for the tutorials and other educational material but most of all it will be a very welcoming place for artists of all levels and age groups.
No penis envy, no competition, just a friendly get together.

You will meet me there as i will stick around often.
Hope to see you guys there and make some new friends and contacts!

The way our profession is treated at times is sickening. No one would dare to claim a free meal at a restaurant in exchange for telling friends that it was tasty and yet in our industry some people do not even bother to ask. Artworks get stolen on a daily basis as if this was a natural thing to do, as if art grows on trees or is generated with a single button click in mysterious apps like Photoshop.
Illustrators, designer, concept artists, animator and many others are the backbone and face of one of the biggest industries on this planet, Film, games, toys, you name it, most products need a design and milliards are made every year.
We are not talking about some kids who use artworks to beautify their homepages, no, we are talking about other industry professionals who steal our artworks for commercial purposes. Stolen artworks are being used as Book covers, in games, illustration articles, being used as a reference for new concepts, poster prints, t-shirts and so on, endless list.

We discuss and reveal some of the facts regarding

- Copyright
- baiting with free exposure
- Art theft
- Protecting your work
- Contracts
- pricing
- fooling artists with asking for help to develop 'free' projects

A big number of artists, especially young artists are constantly being ripped off, underpaid or not paid at all, lured into contract traps, lured with exposure, get their artworks stolen.

Having a great number of members we can do many things about it and be sure, things DO need to be done unless you want to find yourself one day working at a gas station in order to support your 'dream' job as Artist. Having a great number means having a strong voice, a international infrastructure, access to information on various subjects around the world and legal advice . We can help each other dealing with various issues, collect and share information and facts and deal with art theft.
Every artist is free to join and post up some experience here, issues, links to stolen art, warnings, tips.
This is a good thing! Let us all try to help each other! Invite your fellow artist friends to join.
Trust me, it will make a huge difference writing a little mail of complaint on your own or having a gigantic family of thousand of artists behind you.
