Girls at WAR by randis Girls at WAR by randis
Here is another new Painting in Progress.
This is still a rough WIP and will change a lot when i get to finalize it.
The girls will get more armor, the straps are there to hold the armor plates i will add.
The green/red channel effect will be very subtle when the image is finished.

You can see more of my work on my art Forums:

Hope to see you guys there! It is growing to be a awesome community

cheers

I just looked at it through 3D Glasses. The Old-school type with red and blue 'lenses.' It was awesome. :P

It has no 3d effect i am afraid...
Making a 3d effect would be rather hard s you would need to paint the image in 2 slightly different perspectives for the red and green color channel i think.
I use this effect instead of blur, its just a part of my style

Actually there are these 3-d glasses you can buy online that can view certain artworks in 3d which is pretty cool. They sell them on amazon.

Hello Randis, How do you do the chromatic aberration effects? do you use some kind of filter or do you do it by hand?

:iconrandis:
randis Featured By Owner May 13, 2010  Professional Digital Artist
I will do a tutorial vid on it sometimes and explain how i do it and when i use it. Now this image is not a good example because i use for a whole other purpose but there are many other pics i did use it on.

I do not use any filters

Where are my 3D glasses (oldskool ones).

I like your art a lot man, but the chromatic aberration effect is just a little too much in this. It was alright when it was just a tad in the corner or what not, but it is really distracting and visually makes no more sense than a lens flare....and we all know about lens flares....

I guess it's something you have started playing with lately, so perhaps it just needs to be refined...anywho, kudos.

The effect will go back for most part, this image here is stil in a fairly rough stage :D
Reply
:iconshatterdome:
shatterdome Featured By Owner May 13, 2010
Ya I figured, just there is nothing else to complain about at this stage :P

It's a shame digital pieces don't have the aspect of traditional paintings...where you can step away and let everything melt together (thumbnail kinda does that, but not really)...you can always print 'em but 90 percent of the audience is viewing on a monitor.

Because this would be great like that, from across the room it'd look proper then as you get closer you get this weird shit happening. Moreso if you were drunk/stoned.
